CHA Holds 8th Annual Behavioral Health Care Symposium

Behavioral health care and emergency department (ED) professionals gathered Dec. 9-10 in Huntington Beach for the eighth annual Behavioral Health Care Symposium,  held by CHA’s Center for Behavioral Health.

Approximately 250 hospital representatives, faculty and sponsors heard keynote speeches by Sen. Darrell Steinberg, CHA President/CEO C. Duane Dauner and former Congressman Patrick Kennedy.

Additional presentations focused on ED crowding, psychiatric emergency services, behavioral health care under the Affordable Care Act, trauma informed care, triage for psychiatric patients, behavioral health care in community hospitals, psychiatric emergency hospitalists, recovery audit contractor reviews, LPS 5150 modernization, and a panel discussion on ED “wall time.” To view photos from the symposium, visit Next year’s symposium will be held Dec. 8-9.
