CHA Board Endorses Governor’s Tax Initiative

The CHA Board has voted to endorse Proposition 30 on the November 2012 ballot. The ballot initiative, sponsored by Gov. Brown, would temporarily raise state income taxes and sales taxes, as well as increase the vehicle licensing fee. The Governor expects to raise approximately $7.5 billion from the initiative.

If Proposition 30 fails to pass, a new round of budget cuts will take place, including $5.5 billion to education and possibly additional cuts to health care services.
