CHA Announces Leadership Change

Today, CHA President/CEO C. Duane Dauner announced to the CAHHS and CHA Boards of Trustees his plan to retire on Dec. 31, 2018.

“For more than 31 years, I have had the privilege of serving as President and CEO of CAHHS and CHA,” said Dauner. “While I have enjoyed my affiliation with three state hospital associations spanning more than half a century, my tenure at CAHHS/CHA is unequaled with respect to opportunities, challenges, friendships, relevance and rewards.”

The CAHHS and CHA Boards have formed a search committee to find Dauner’s replacement. The executive search firm Witt/Kieffer has been hired to lead a nationwide search and will be working directly with the search committee to secure a successor. As the search and onboarding process will likely take some time, the committee will begin its work in January. To ensure continuity in leadership and executive management, once the new President and CEO is employed, Dauner will continue to serve the organizations as a consultant until Dec. 31, 2018.

“This change brings about new opportunities as well as challenges for all of us,” he said. “Every effort will be made to facilitate a smooth transition to the next CAHHS and CHA President and CEO. I am indebted to the officers, board members, membership, employees and colleagues who have made my tenure at CAHHS/CHA the ultimate professional experience. Thank you for giving me the privilege of serving as your President and CEO.”
