CHA and Regional Associations Encourage Hospitals to Participate in Donate Life California
More than 113,000 on national transplant waiting list

April is National Donate Life Month. To celebrate this event, CHA, the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, Hospital Association of Southern California, and Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties have asked California hospital CEOs to participate in the Donate Life California campaign and encourage family members, friends, colleagues and patients to sign up on the statewide donor registry at www.donateLIFEcalifornia.org. More than 113,000 people are currently on the national transplant waiting list — 20,000 in California. Donate Life California campaign is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration’s Workplace Partnership for Life Campaign and American Hospital Association. Information to help hospitals develop a simple, cost-free and customizable program can be found at www.donateLIFEcalifornia.org or through local organ procurement organizations (OPOs). For more information, see the attached memorandum to California hospitals and a list of California OPOs with their contact information.
