CDPH Releases Proposed Regulations for Administrative Penalties
Would impact general acute care, acute psychiatric and special hospitals

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has released proposed regulations to implement California Health and Safety Code Section 1280.3. In the draft regulations, CDPH proposes adopting assessment criteria for imposing administrative penalties on general acute care, acute psychiatric and special hospitals for violation of any requirement of hospital licensure. CHA is reviewing these regulations and will submit comments. Hospitals are also encouraged to review these regulations and submit comments to CDPH by Dec. 10. The regulatory documents for this action can be found on the CDPH website. The Public Notice will be published in the California Regulatory Notice Register on Oct. 26. This date will commence the 45-day comment period, which will end on Dec. 10.
