CDPH Proposes Newborn Screening Panel Fee Increase

AB 395 (Chapter 461, Statutes of 2011) requires expansion of the Newborn Screening (NBS) Program panel to include severe combined immunodeficiency and other T-cell lymphopenias. To provide revenue for the expansion, the California Department of Public Health proposes to raise the NBS fee from $101.75 to $111.70. Comments may be submitted to the Office of Regulations by 5 p.m. on Sept. 7. A public hearing will be held Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon for input on the proposed action.
