CDPH Posts Notice of 15-Day Comment Period
Proposed regulations would affect hospital administrative penalties

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has posted the 15-Day Notice of Public Availability of changes to the proposal for DPH-09-012: Administrative Penalties – General Acute Care Hospitals, Acute Psychiatric Hospitals and Special Hospitals. The comment period will close at 5 p.m. on August 9, 2013.

The purpose of the proposed regulations is to implement California Health and Safety Code section 1280.3 by adopting criteria for assessment of administrative penalties against general acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals and special hospitals for violation of any requirement of hospital licensure. The 15-day comment period is being conducted because CDPH is proposing changes to the originally proposed regulation text. CHA submitted extensive comments last December and will submit additional comments to these changes to the proposed regulations. Members may submit comments to CHA or directly to CDPH.
