CDPH Issues Policy on Flu Virus Vaccination, Masking for Health Care Providers

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) last week issued the attached All Facilities Letter 17-16, addressing the agency’s policy related to influenza. Under its policy, all CDPH employees who enter health care facilities as a part of their work must comply with local requirements to minimize the spread of the influenza virus by either receiving the influenza vaccine or wearing a mask inside designated patient care areas. When a CDPH employee receives the vaccine, they will receive a sticker to place on their CDPH identification badge that must be shown upon admittance to a health care facility.
