CDC Issues Recommendations for Ebola Precautions in Hospitals

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended standard, contact and droplet precautions for hospitalized patients with known or suspected Ebola hemorrhagic fever. CDC notes that its recommendations focus on the hospital setting, but the recommendations for personal protective equipment and environmental infection control measures are applicable to any health care setting. CDC continues to evaluate the West African outbreak of the disease and will update its recommendations as information becomes available.
