California Hospitals to Advocate at Federal Advocacy Event

CHA urges hospital executives to participate in the upcoming annual California Congressional Action Program (CCAP), April 28 – May 1 in Washington, D.C. Held in conjunction with the American Hospital Association’s Annual Membership Meeting, CCAP offers members an opportunity to collectively advocate on behalf of California hospitals by meeting with lawmakers and their staff.

“As the debate over balancing the budget continues, it is crucial that we work together to prevent cuts to California’s vulnerable hospitals,” said Anne O’Rourke, CHA senior vice president, federal relations. “It is more important than ever to have a strong contingent of California hospitals in D.C.”

CCAP begins on April 28 with a first-time attendee orientation, followed by a welcome reception at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, the host hotel for California participants. A California team caucus meeting is set for April 30 before hospital executives head to the Capitol to meet with their Congressional representatives and key staff.

For further information about the event and to register, visit www.calhospital.org/ccap. To facilitate appointment scheduling, CHA encourages members to register by March 29.

Only a few discounted rooms remain at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel. To reserve a room, call (800) 468-3571 and mention the California Hospital Association.

Separate registration for the AHA meeting is required; AHA registration is available at www.aha.org.
