California Hospital Engagement Network to Focus on Quality Improvement
Recording of Jan. 13 web seminar now available

The Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) has awarded a subcontract to CHA to develop a California Hospital Engagement Network (CA HEN). Funding for HENs, which are part of a $1 billion Health and Human Services (HHS) project, will be used to improve performance across 10 clinical initiatives defined in the Partnership for Patients program.

HRET, CHA and the Regional Associations are committed to working with hospitals to provide the necessary tools, education and assistance to meet the improvement goals established by HHS. A recording of a CHA web seminar Jan. 13 is available for members at www.calhospital.org/cahen-briefing-recording. Hospitals and systems that wish to participate in the project should contact David Perrott, MD, DDS, CHA senior vice president/chief medical officer, at (916) 552-7574 or dperrott@calhospital.org.

CA HEN will play an important role in improving quality of care and patient safety throughout California. In addition, the project offers a unique opportunity to leverage federal funding to meet the goal of unifying CHA quality-improvement/patient-safety programs in California.
