California Health Centers Receive $12.5M in Grants for Substance Abuse Services

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced earlier this week that $94 million in Affordable Care Act funding has been granted to 271 health centers in 45 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. California received $12,593,225 in grants to 36 health centers. The funding is intended to improve and expand the delivery of substance abuse services in health centers, specifically focusing on the treatment of opioid use disorders in underserved populations. This $94 million investment is expected to help awardees hire approximately 800 providers to treat nearly 124,000 new patients.
