CAHHS 52nd Annual Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference Next Month
Deadline for discounted room rates is Jan. 27

The California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (CAHHS) will host its 52nd California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference Feb. 16-19 at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa in Indian Wells. This year’s conference features a focus on population health, where the responsibilities and opportunities for the volunteer sector are both immense and exciting. The program will offer innovative ideas, quality networking and practical education to assist hospitals with:

  • Volunteer Recruitment: System-wide recruitment for all sites.
  • Volunteer Programs: Service to patients, families, communities and the hospitals or hospital-affiliated entity with which they are associated.
  • Volunteer and Paid Staff Teams: Volunteer management skills for all volunteer leaders and paid staff who partner with volunteers.
  • Volunteer Technology: Use of technology for volunteer management, communication and education.
  • Community Collaborations and Partnerships: Working together to build upon and share existing resources.

Opening session speakers will provide a health care update as the framework for more than 30 education sessions. Presenters include Gregory A. Adams, group president/regional president Northern California, Kaiser Permanente; James D. Barber, president/CEO, Hospital Association of Southern California; and Dora Barilla, MPH, CHES, DrPH, assistant vice president, strategy and innovation/associate director, Institute for Health Policy and Leadership/and associate director, Institute for Community Partnerships, Loma Linda University Medical Center.
