BOP Issues Revisions, New Comment Period on Proposed Sterile Compounding Regulations

At its April meeting, the Board of Pharmacy (BOP) recommended withdrawing the current rulemaking file  on sterile compounding regulations originally noticed Sept. 4, 2014, and issued revised language for a new 45-day comment period ending June 22. The BOP’s intent in amending the regulations is to strengthen the regulation and enforcement of pharmacies that compound sterile drug products as a result of SB 294 (Statutes of 2013, Chapter 565). CHA will accept comments from members through close of business on June 19.
