Annual Federal Advocacy Program Is May 4 – 7 in Washington, D.C.

Hospital executives are encouraged to attend CHA’s annual federal advocacy program, the California Congressional Action Program (CCAP), May 4 – 7 in Washington, D.C.  Held in conjunction with the American Hospital Association’s Annual Membership Meeting, CCAP is an opportunity to collectively advocate on behalf of California hospitals with federal lawmakers. Thousands of hospital executives from throughout the country will convene in the nation’s capital for this year’s event.

“As Congress faces continued pressure to cut spending, we must work together to preserve access to hospital care in California,” said Anne O’Rourke, CHA senior vice president, federal relations. “It is more important than ever to have a strong contingent of California hospitals in D.C.”

CCAP begins on May 4 with a first-time attendee orientation, followed by a welcome reception at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel. The California team caucus meeting is set for May 6 before hospital executives head to the Capitol to meet with their Congressional representatives.

For more information about CCAP and to register, visit www.calhospital.org/ccap. To facilitate the scheduling of appointments, members are urged to register by April 4.
