AHA to Host Call With CDC on Ebola Preparedness Tomorrow

The American Hospital Association (AHA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host a joint call tomorrow, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. (PT) for hospital and health system leaders on Ebola preparedness. The call will feature CDC experts discussing the agency’s Ebola screening criteria; infection control protocols; the level of personal protective equipment (PPE) needed to ensure worker safety and proper procedures for putting on and removing PPE; health care worker safety; and proper disposal of medical waste, among other issues. To join the call, dial (888) 453-9924 and enter passcode 568461. AHA requests that hospitals organize a central listening location for their staff to participate, in order to maximize the number of phone lines available for the call. The call will be recorded and posted to AHA’s Ebola Preparedness Resources web page.
