Agenda Set for Behavioral Health Care Symposium
First day to focus on behavioral health care crisis in EDs

The annual Behavioral Health Care Symposium will be held Dec. 3 – 4 at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. The first day of the symposium will focus on the swelling numbers of behavioral health patients in emergency departments (EDs). General sessions will include ED success stories and offer best practices to take back to facilities. In addition, a panel presentation will feature innovative collaborations that improve access to much-needed services. A special one-day symposium rate is offered to encourage hospital ED leadership to attend on this day. The second day will feature general and breakout sessions on a range of operational, financial and policy topics, including how health care reform may play out and impact providers, tips to maximize managed care revenue, and ways to demonstrate the value of behavioral health services. Working models of integrated care and sensory interventions that improve care and patient transitions will also be covered. Member tuition for the full program is $425; tuition for Dec. 3 only is $195. Discounted hotel rooms are available for $175, single or double occupancy.
