AFL Addresses Adverse Event Reporting for Outpatient Settings

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued an All Facility Letter (AFL) on new requirements for reporting adverse events in specified outpatient settings. The new statutory requirements apply to clinics and ambulatory surgery centers that meet the definition of “outpatient setting,” as specified in Health and Safety Code Chapter 1.3 (Sections 1248-1248.85).
