114th Congress Sworn in as Republicans Take Control of Both Houses

Republicans took control of both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, as the 114th Congress was sworn in today. The Senate welcomed 13 new lawmakers, including 12 Republicans. The House freshman class is made up of 43 Republicans and 15 Democrats, for a total of 58 new members. The California congressional delegation includes six freshmen: Democrat Reps. Pete Aguilar, Mark DeSaulnier, Ted Lieu and Norma Torres; and Republican Reps. Stephen Knight and Mimi Walters. CHA will work with the freshman members to orient them on federal hospital issues.
