Christopher A. Longhurst, MD, MS
Chief Information Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer, UC San Diego Health; and
Clinical Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Pediatrics, UC San Diego School of Medicine
Christopher Longhurst MD, MS, serves as chief information officer and associate chief medical officer for quality and safety at UC San Diego Health. This dual, complementary role provides leadership in key functional areas to continuously improve efforts around operations, reputation and care provided at UC San Diego Health.
As CIO, Dr. Longhurst oversees all operations and strategic planning for information and communications technology. He is responsible for planning and developing all administrative and clinical information systems related to operating UC San Diego Health hospital and clinical facilities, including electronic health records and patient-facing technologies. As associate CMO for quality and safety, Dr. Longhurst is focused on building upon current quality improvement efforts and aligning people, processes and technology to achieve UC San Diego Health’s quality and accountability goals.
Nicole May, MHSA, PMP, LSSBB

Nicole May is director of the project management office at UC San Diego Health and is also serving as program director for the California implementation of CA Notify exposure notification system. Nicole oversees the governance, planning, and execution of the UC San Diego Health information services strategic project portfolio.
Previously, she served as assistant vice president for St. Luke’s Health in Greater Houston. There, she led the divisional project management office, providing oversight of the enterprise strategic project portfolio. Nicole holds both a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in health services administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan.
Trina Gonzalez

Trina Gonzalez is vice president of policy at the California Hospital Association, where she is responsible for health care coverage, managed care, and community benefits.
Prior to CHA, she was Director of Community Integration at UC Davis Health, where she developed and implemented strategies that ensured the continuity of care for families and individuals with Medi-Cal and for underserved populations in the Sacramento region. She has also served as program officer at the Milbank Memorial Fund, a national foundation dedicated to improving population health, and as assistant secretary for Public Health and Emergency Medical Services at the California Health and Human Services Agency.
