Three Dates Remain For Annual Consent Law Seminar Series
Attendees receive free 2012 Consent Manual

Six dates have been set for the popular Consent Law Seminar, which will be held throughout California. Remaining dates include May 8 in San Ramon, May 9 in Sacramento and May 22 in Universal City.

CHA’s Consent Law Seminar offers an in-depth view of consent and related health care law. Case scenarios will be used to illustrate complexities of the law, challenge participant analysis and decision making, and clarify legal issues.

Participants will learn about consent law for outpatient and telemedicine settings, and how to apply critical thinking skills to out-of-the-ordinary consent situations. Other sessions on related health care law will include complex reporting, disclosure processes, patients’ rights and privacy updates. New laws and a health care issues update also will be included.

Faculty for the seminars will include Peggy Nakamura, RN, JD, assistant vice president, chief risk officer and associate counsel at Adventist Health; Maureen Archambault, RN, CPHRM, senior vice president, healthcare practice leader and client executive in the Southwest Partnership for Marsh and McLennan (Southern California seminars); and Susan Penney, JD, director of risk management for the University of California San Francisco clinical enterprises (Northern California seminars).
