Chapman and Backer to Address CHA’s Disaster Planning Conference
September 19-21, 2011 — Sacramento, CA

Ronald Chapman, MD, MPH, recently appointed director of the California Department of Public Health, and Howard Backer, MD, MPH, new director of the Emergency Medical Services Authority, will address CHA member hospitals at the upcoming Disaster Planning for California Hospitals conference Sept. 19-21 in Sacramento.

The statewide leaders will provide an update on state initiatives and their departments’ support for hospitals during catastrophic events. CHA President/CEO C. Duane Dauner also will address the conference.

More than 650 people are expected to attend the three-day conference, making it the largest gathering of hospital preparedness staff in California. Response has been strong — the post-conference workshop, the Active Shooter, has sold out.

The Hyatt Regency also is sold out; however, discounted rooms are now available at the Sheraton Grand Hotel across the street from the Sacramento Convention Center. To reserve a room at the Sheraton, call (888) 325-3535 and mention the “CHA Disaster Planning Conference” to receive the discounted rate of $172.
