California Events

California Caucus and Capitol Hill Visits

CHA will continue to host the California Caucus on Tuesday, April 21 to prepare hospital leaders for visits with the California congressional delegation.

As before, CHA staff will schedule appointments and ensure participants are well prepared to meet with elected officials and their staff. Individual schedules will be distributed at the California Caucus. (Our apologies: Because many meetings are confirmed shortly before your arrival, we are not able to provide your personal schedule in advance.)

SPECIAL NOTE: Capitol Hill visits will take place in the afternoon Tuesday, April 21 and all day Wednesday, April 22. Please plan your travel accordingly.

Social Networking: Reception, Presidents’ Club Dinner

Member Reception
CHA and the Regional Associations will host a reception for program participants the evening of Monday, April 20 at President Lincoln’s Cottage.

CHPAC Presidents’ Club Dinner
Members of California Hospital Association Political Action Committee’s (CHPAC) Presidents’ Club will also receive an invitation to the CHPAC annual dinner, to be held immediately following the reception.

In addition to the annual dinner, Presidents’ Club members will have an opportunity for a private tour of this historic site. Built in 1842, the 34-room Gothic Revival-style mansion became a sanctuary for President Lincoln and other 19th century U.S. Presidents. While living here, Lincoln made nation-changing decisions about the Union, freedom, and the presidency, most notably the Emancipation Proclamation. During the Civil War, the Lincolns spent three summers at the cottage, which features handsome woodwork, marble fireplaces, a charming verandah, and an inviting lawn shaded by an age-old magnolia. Here Lincoln said, “My thoughts — my solicitude for this great country follows me wherever I go.”

Not yet a CHPAC member? Want to increase your CHPAC participation to President’s level? Learn more here to join us for this special event.
