The California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (CAHHS) Volunteer Services invites you to attend the 2018 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference to be held February 19-21, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. 

The conference theme — “Our Connections, Our Impact, Our Stories” —  focuses on the relationships that healthcare volunteers build, the lives we impact, and the stories we have to tell.  

Our intended audience is volunteer leaders, volunteers, paid staff who manage volunteer programs, community partners, and inter-professional peers looking to expand their services with volunteer programs.

Confirmation Policy

Registrations are confirmed via email.  Please call CAHHS at (916) 552-7544 if you do not receive an email confirmation prior to February 16, 2018.

Cancelation/Refund

A $100 non-refundable processing fee will be retained for each cancelation received in writing by fax (916-552-2610) or email (volunteers@calhospital.org) by January 19, 2018. Refunds will not be issued after this date.  Refunds will be made to payer only.  Substitutions are encouraged.

Substitutions

Registrants unable to attend the conference may send a substitute for no additional fee.  Only one substitution will be allowed per original registration.  Please submit via fax (916-552-2610) or email (volunteers@calhospital.org) a brief note requesting the substitution, a copy of the previous registrant’s confirmation and a completed registration form for the new attendee.  The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with the transfer.  The same policy applies to on-site substitutions.  Contact CAHHS at (916) 552-7544 for additional questions.

Volunteer Resource Professionals Networking Event Cancelation/Refund

A full refund of $50 will be processed for cancelations received in writing by fax (916-552-2610) or email (volunteers@calhospital.org) by January 19, 2018. Refunds will not be issued after this date. Refunds will be made to payer only. Substitutions, available only on-site, are encouraged, so long as alternate attendees are also salaried staff responsible for managing volunteer programs.

Consent to use photographic images and recordings:  Registration and attendance at, or participation in, CAHHS meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to CAHHS for use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotape of such event and activities.

CAVS Exam

The 2018 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference planning committee is pleased to provide a site for a “paper-and-pencil” Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) exam on February 19, 2018, from noon–2:30 p.m. in the Garden Room II at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.  

The CAVS is the volunteer management credential available through the Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP), a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association.  

Pre-registration with AHVRP is required and open to all candidates who meet CAVS exam eligibility requirements.

  • Application deadline is February 1, 2018.
  • All application and payment logistics are handled through AHVRP.

 

Meeting Space Request

The California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference is the perfect time to conduct a social gathering, formal meeting or networking event for your system or group. Originally built in 1962, the infamous Wine Cellar at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, offers guests an opportunity to experience the authentic character of the decade. Frequented by actor John Wayne and Presidential figures such as Richard Nixon and JFK, see a piece of history and host your small group during the 2018 conference. 

Space is available in one-hour blocks and on a first-come, first-served, pre-approved basis.  A total block of two hours may be requested.  Deadline for reservations is February 9, 2018.
