Chief Financial Officer Committee

Provides a venue for hospital financcial executives to interact in meaningful, action-based discussion related to current and pending regulation and legislation and high-level financial policy issues.

EMS/Trauma Committee

Assists in formulating legislative and regulatory positions, sponsoring educational programs and publishing information regarding trauma care, trauma system planning, emergency medical services and designated trauma centers.

Joint Committee on Accreditation & Licensing

Monitors the survey process and all related activities of regulatory, licensing and accreditation bodies for health care systems and takes steps to affect change to improve the process. In addition, the committee will act as a proactive clearinghouse and liaison to communicate information to and from California health care facilities.

Hospital-Based Outpatient Clinics Committee

An advisory group composed of individuals actively involved in operating hospital-based clinics. These CHA members represent the broad range of clinics operated by hospitals: public, private, rural, urban, independent, as well as large and small systems. The committee monitors and advises staff on state and federal legislative and regulatory issues, including formulating strategies for educating and improving the public’s knowledge of hospital-based outpatient clinics. In addition, the committee provides information to member hospitals interested in clinic operations.

Managed Care Committee

A statewide group of hospital managed care professionals focused on formulating legislative and regulatory positions related to managed care.  The committee works with the California Legislature, California Department of Managed Health Care and other regulatory agencies to ensure the financial viability of hospitals and health care systems in California.

Payer Relations Committee

A statewide group of hospital patient financial accounting staff, payers, and information and technology participants. The committee discusses and addresses the changing environment of patient accounting and is dedicated to resolving issues with payers in an open forum to achieve workable and mutually acceptable practices. The committee assists in formulating legislative and regulatory positions relative to patient financial issues.

Quality Committee

Advises the CHA Board regarding quality of patient care and patient-safety issues, transparency, public reporting, member needs, policy development, and legislative and regulatory needs.
