Joan Cardellino, CAVS
CAHHS, Vice President, Volunteer Services

Joan Cardellino oversees a statewide network of committees serving hospital volunteer programs and services. Responsibilities include planning and implementing an annual conference and educational events; staffing the Committee on Volunteer Services; creating new revenue-producing products, seminars and/or publications; regular consultations with more than 400 member hospitals; and forming and maintaining strategic alliances, joint ventures and community partnerships at the state level to advance volunteerism in hospitals.

Before joining CAHHS, she served as director of volunteer resources for 15 years at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. She also served as director of training and staff development, director of youth services and branch administrator for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American National Red Cross. Her background also includes experience as a consultant/administrative manager and an ACTION-Peace Corps volunteer.

Joan has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Northeastern University, a graduate business certificate in health care administration and marketing from Temple University, and a graduate business certificate in leadership development from UCLA Anderson Executive Education Center.  She holds a Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) credential from the Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP).
