Registration is now open for CHA’s 2013 Disaster Planning for California Hospitals conference set for Sept. 23 – 25, in Sacramento. Now in its eighth year, the conference brings together hospital emergency preparedness staff with community responders and officials from state and local agencies.

“The theme, ‘We’re in This Together,’ speaks to the importance of relationships as hospitals strengthen their preparedness and response,” said Cheri Hummel, CHA’s vice president, disaster preparedness. “The conference is a unique opportunity to connect with and learn from peers, industry experts and community partners.”

The program will feature keynote speakers and more than a dozen different breakout sessions, including member hospital presentations on lessons learned from actual events. Hospital disaster response teams are encouraged to invite facilities managers to join them at the half-day pre-conference workshop, “Utilities Management: Preserving Critical Systems.” A detailed agenda will be available next month.
