Health Data Insights (HDI), the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) for California, has been issuing Additional Documentation Request (ADR) letters to hospitals for diagnosis-related group validations over the last month. Letters have been sent to the contact name given to HDI, or to the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer or Compliance Officer if no name was provided.

The California Hospital Association (CHA) welcomes today’s announcement by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that a new contractor has been selected to work with California hospitals as part of the national roll-out of the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program.
