CHA DataSuite — a powerful information-based toolset — is available free of charge to hospitals with 2013 CHA membership. Through CHA DataSuite, hospital executives and financial specialists gain access to financial reports designed to analyze government reimbursement data and drive decision making. DataSuite reports are distributed by email directly to member hospital executives. For more information, see CHA’s DataSuite announcement and the 2013 DataSuite Product Suite Overview. For questions regarding report access, please email DataSuiteReports@calhospital.org.
CHA has released hospital-specific DataSuite reports to member hospitals, examining how existing Medicare provider payment cuts would be exacerbated by new cuts that Congress might consider in order achieve long-term deficit reduction goals and/or Medicare payment policy. The report has been updated from a prior version, released in February 2013, and includes analysis of potential cuts to outpatient payment changes, graduate medical education cuts, bad debt payment cuts and cuts to rural programs, among others.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has cancelled the third quarter (October) update to its quality data, the source of CHA’s DataSuite hospital reports. CMS cited the government shutdown as the reason for canceling the update and noted that the next update is scheduled for Dec. 12. As a result, multiple CHA DataSuite analyses will be delayed.
CHA issued individual working models this week — using CHA DataSuite — to assist hospitals in estimating the amount of incentive payments that would be available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
