Hear from State’s New Surgeon General at Next Month’s Behavioral Health Care Symposium

CHA’s annual Behavioral Health Care Symposium is set for Dec. 5 and 6 in Riverside. 

The symposium, which will feature California’s new surgeon general, has an agenda designed with the many behavioral health care developments and changes in California in mind. 

Speakers include John Moe, author of “The Hilarious World of Depression” and podcast host of “The Depresh Mode.” Other highlights include three influential state leaders overseeing the build-out of behavioral health care in California; scientists getting Food and Drug Administration approval for historic and innovative treatments for mental illness and addiction; and attorneys who advise hospitals on complying with new involuntary treatment and Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act laws. 

Attendees will also learn from California’s hospital leaders as they discuss recent investments and policy changes, and experts on the latest cutting-edge treatment options for mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
